Our Journey
Youth Catalyst Pakistan (YCP) began its journey in 2009 as a youth-led initiative dedicated to empowering communities and driving sustainable social change. After three years of impactful grassroots work, YCP was formally registered in 2012 under the Societies Registration Act of 1961 and later re-registered under the Charity Act of 2021, Government of Pakistan. The organization was founded by Ms. Tayyaba Gul, along with committed founding members Dr. Mehtab Karim, Dr. Tauseef Ahmed, Dr. Farid Mehdit, and Mr. Arshad Minhas, and was further strengthened by the vital contributions of Ms. Attia Hanif, who played an instrumental role in establishing YCP. As a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization, and a registered member of the National Trust for Population Welfare (NATPOW), Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP), and the Directorate of Health Services – CDA Islamabad, YCP works at the grassroots level to serve marginalized and underserved communities. Guided by the belief that youth are powerful agents of change, YCP addresses critical gaps in health, maternal and child care, immunization, nutrition, family planning, WASH, climate resilience, skill development, and disaster response. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, YCP delivers integrated services through MNCH centers, mobile health camps, awareness initiatives, and emergency relief efforts, ensuring essential services reach communities at their doorstep. With strong partnerships, dedicated staff, and deep community trust, YCP continues its mission of empowering youth, protecting mothers and children, and transforming communities, because when youth lead with purpose, a better Pakistan becomes possible.
